The Outtie is a 1997 Audi A6 Quattro.
I bought it bone stock in June of 2002 with 56,000 miles on it.
I traded it in on September 4th, 2004 for a 2005 Scion TC.

It may have had a ton of problems, but I still loved it. My Outtie was named after a misunderstanding by one of my friends. I'll leave you to figure out what transpired.
I tried to keep it simple and clean, and I think I managed to keep it that way. I was very happy with the way it looked. It may not have been fast... actually, it wasn't even remotely fast, but it looked good losing.
I will never buy another Audi/VW though because it was always in the shop and it cost at least $1000 every time.

Some of the mods I did include:

• 18x8 Fondmetal 6900 rims with 215-30-18 Nankang Tires

• Intrax lowering springs

• Clear corners

• Painted brake callipers for contrast

• Painted front grills to match

• Red neons under dash and in trunk

The System

The stereo was:

Kenwood KDC-MPV619 MP3/CD player
MTX Thunder 250 watt amp
Pioneer Premier 12 in. 1000 watt sub
Rockford Fosgate 2 farad digital capacitor
BOSE stock rear amped speakers

Some of the problems I have encountered over the past year have been:

• Around 20 blown out headlights (xenon-look didn't work) from 10/21/02 - 8/25/03
• Sunroof broke - no longer opened or closed or sealed very well.
• Check engine light on all the time. Mass air sensor problem.
• I bottomed out thanks to the springs, but I guess I should expect that.
• Snagged the front bumper on parking lot curbs - pulled it off once, fixed with sheet metal screws.
• Lost under-engine air dam because of bumper being loose - dragged it for about 70 miles at 70 MPH.
• Melted seat to battery (under backseat) several times while trying to get stereo installed.
• Blew water pump at around 70,000 miles.
• Not really its fault, but when I traded it in, there was a colony of ants living in the doors.
